Jennifer Lawrence in Skirt Pants

Yes, that's right, skirt pants. Jennifer Lawrence arrived to the Christian Dior haute couture show in Paris wearing these. These pants, by Dior of course, featured a wide skirt like one half and a narrow pant like other (a pair of asymmetric culottes*). These skirt pants belong to Raf Simon's latest Resort collection. It does sound crazy but Jennifer Lawrence looked sexy. Take a look.

Jennifer Lawrence, teamed the loose fitting,billowy, charcoal, striped skirt pants with a pale pink and slightly colorful lace crop top (flaunting her toned tummy), Dior sunglasses and simple black pumps. She kept her hair and make up simple and let the outfit take the center stage.  She rocks this sexy ( and risky yet confusing) head to toe Dior look with her oozing confidence. Somehow, that look on her face reminds me of Karl Lagerfeld (of Chanel). Maybe, it's the black sunglasses. She carries this super trendy making you uncomfortable look with equal ease and panache.

Ever since Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar, her fashion choices have come under scrutiny. Many insiders also questioned her choice of outfit (midriff-baring top and voluminous asymmetrical trousers) to a high-end haute couture show. The Silver Linings Playbook actor is also the face of Miss Dior . She also appears on the highly sought after September Vogue cover. When she was chosen as the face of Miss Dior, many fans of the high-label brand criticized the choice, saying her style didn't capture the essence of the brand. However, Jennifer has shown she is willing to take risks and this unusual (and maybe haphazard) choice proves that she can take them well.

When she was named the face of Miss Dior, Lawrence said: “Being part of something with such incredible history is an honor. Dior represents beauty and strength in women and that’s how I feel when I’m wearing his clothes,” Lawrence explained. “It just makes you feel so confident.” And so she was. 

The question however still remains, is this crazy or not? To me, it's more like love it, hate it but you cannot ignore it. But, Jennifer Lawrence succeeds in this look. I don't see this as much of a trend. Sure, a lot of people would be willing to try this but not many would be able to pull this off.
