The Leading Ladies of Bollywood

at

Dabboo Ratnani's Calender Launch

Priyanka Chopra

There is just too much going on in this ensemble. Priyanka is wearing a blue Kukoon cape which had an embellished skull on its back with J black denims. She completed her look with a pair of heavily studded black KoĆ«csh wedge boots and a Saurabh Kant Srivastava choker. The choker literally seems to be choking her. The denims don't go too well with the boots. The blue cape and the skull look out of place. In short, there is nothing holding the look together.

Shraddha Kapoor

While I like the metallic black sweatshirt and the tan leather skirt, the thigh high Chanel boots were a disappointment. Leather and leather is a complete no no to me. Simple black ankle strap sandals or ankle booties would have elevated her look.

Jacqueline Fernandez

Jacqueline wore a funky black Zara dress with black ankle boots (looks like boots are going to be a major trend this year). She completed her look with a Louis Vuitton box clutch. I don't think the ankle boots go that well with the dress. I think white sneakers would have looked awesome with dress. And white sneakers are totally in this season.

None of the looks seemed to wow me. So, I can't pick who looks the best. What about you, guys? What do you think?

Kohl's 2013 Fall Collection

Catherine Malandrino for DesigNation

Catherine Malandrino's collection for DesigNation won't be out till September 27 but here is a sneak peek. This limited-edition collection will be available exclusively at Kohl's and Kohls.com in Fall 2013.

The collection channels the romance of Paris. Malandrino has described Paris as a city where "poetry is in the air". She said in a recent press release,“From the lights and the architecture to the parks and the galleries, I found so much creative inspiration walking the streets of Paris,”. “My Kohl’s DesigNation collection showcases that experience with a perfect blend of romantic, elegant and Parisian style at an affordable price,” she explained. The designer draws inspiration from the City of Paris and French women. And evidently, it is a chic, minimalist yet feminine and empowering collection with a lot of black.

Every woman has a Parisian dream but if you can't go to Paris, bring Paris to you.

And here's my favorite piece of the collection:

Star Wars

Who wore it better?

While collecting my VMA Red Carpet looks, I stumbled upon this Selena Gomez image and I instantly remembered that I had seen a similar dress on Deepika Padukone which I found later was also worn by Zoe Saldana.

Selena wore a Zuhair Murad Spring 2013 black dress to the Bilboard Music Awards to announce bestie Taylor Swift's '22' performance. Zoe and Deepika both wear a Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 dress. Zoe wore it to the CFDA accompanying the designer in June 2012 while Deepika wore it to the Filmfare Awards in January earlier this year.

Out of all the three looks, Deepika wins. And it is purely because of her hair and make up. With a plunging neckline, hair should always be pulled back but not too tight (like Zoe's hair) because the dress is figure fitting. It goes without saying that with a black gown you need some bold color (preferably red) lipstick. See how make up can make or break a look.

So, for me it was Deepika. What do you guys think, who wore it better?
